RE Darling Receives Supplier Appreciation Award for the “Minuteman III Propulsion Replacement Program”.Minuteman III Program Management from ATK visited to present to the employees of RE Darling this “Special Award”. Over the past 18 years RE Darling and ATK worked closely together solving the challenges and complexities of outdated engineering and obsolete raw materials utilized to manufacture the molded insulation segments for stage 1, 2, 3 of the Minuteman III rocket motors.  Max Tavoian- Program Manager shared that RE Darling has consistently shown their commitment to excellence and wanted to extend his sincere appreciation to the employees and management for their expertise and dedication in completing this significant milestone in our nation’s defense.
A Celebration Luncheon was enjoyed by the entire company.

RE Darling releases a short video on the advantages of using “DARPRO Edge Strips” for use in the Copper Mining Industry. The DARPRO Edge Strip System utilizes a mechanical lock to secure a semi-permanent edge strip with sealed corners to three edges of the mother cathode blank used for producing starter sheets.

R.E. Darling Co., Inc. was recently honored by DLA Land and Maritime, Columbus, Ohio as one of the government’s Best Suppliers for the third year in a row at an award ceremony held June 13, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency Ballroom, in Columbus, Ohio. Leigh Ayn Scott and Tim Carter accepted the award from Army Brig. Gen. Darrell K. Williams, the DLA Land and Maritime Commanding General. This recognition means R.E. Darling has supplied products the government can be confident in using. Firms that qualify as Automated Best Value System award winners have met the stringent quality and delivery requirements established by the Defense Logistics Agency. To be eligible, vendors must have shipped 50 or more contract line items during a 12-month period. To qualify for a Gold Award, a contractor must have a perfect score of 100. A score of 99.99 earns a Silver Award, and a score of 98 to 98.9 earns a Bronze Award. In 2011 our REDAR team stepped up their game earning the prestigious Gold Award for Hose Life Support products that we supply to the Department of Defense and other agencies.

The Healthy Workplace Award of Excellence recognizes work site wellness programs that are creating a thriving environment to support the health and well-being of their employees.

RE Darling Co., Inc. Celebrated the “Grand Re-Opening” of our Updated and Upgraded, Mill Room Facility. The ribbon cutting ceremony took place less than 6 months after inception. Gary and Rob Darling took the time to recognize: Bruce Hillman, Brent LeDoux, Rick Sbresny (and the Mill Room Production Team), Bruce Wyzykowski, Mike Taglieri, Tim Carter, Pancho Hernandez and David Provencher for their outstanding efforts during this exciting project. The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Invitation stated at the bottom….. and here’s something you may never have expected to hear … please carefully wipe your feet before coming on to the Mill Room shop floor…. This project finished on Time and on Budget!

REDAR receives the Bronze DLA Land & Maritime Excellence Award for 2009 at the 2010 Defense Logistics Agency Enterprise Supplier Conference.  Award is for the recognition of a Quality Supplier to DLA based on a ABVS score for Quality, Delivery & Price.  Note we have won other DLA excellence awards as follows:

RE Darling receives recognition for the outstanding level of customer service and support from Axel Augustin- Air Commodore, Director General Australian Super Hornet, Australian Super Hornet Project Office. “RE Darling’s achievement of this milestone on behalf of the Royal Australian Air Force ensured that No. 1 Squadron were able to achieve the significant milestone of their first Australian Super Hornet flight on the programmed day of 1st March 2010”.

David Provencher has been promoted to the position of Director of Operations.  In this role, David will report directly to Gary Darling as a member of his executive staff, and will have the Production, Quality, and Purchasing departments reporting to him.

David’s tenure with the company began in1986, and he has served for the past 15 years as our Purchasing Manager.  David has done an exceptional job both in directing this critical function and in providing leadership for his department and for the company as a whole.

“REACH (REDAR Employees Achieve Complete Health) Wellness Initiative” officially commenced January 2010.  All REDAR employees are encouraged to participate in the REACH Wellness Initiative to improve their overall health and quality of life.  Employees are offered on-site coaching, wellness activities and incentives to help them achieve their health goals.  The health and wellness of our employees is vital to our continued success.

RE Darling held their annual Veterans Day BBQ lunch today.Gary Darling (company President) held his usual position manning the BBQ grill.Gary took time to recognize and thank the 18 current and past employee Veterans that were in attendance, for their service to our country.

Again this year a donation was made on behalf of the Veterans and their fellow employees at RE Darling Co. Inc. to: The VFW’s “Unmet Needs Program” which provides emergency financial support to the families of our service men and women and to the “Fisher House Foundation” which provides temporary home away from home for the families of injured soldiers.
